Things to Consider in Home Health: Car Insurance

If you are planning to work at a home health agency as a home health nurse, there are some things you may want to consider. Some of these things are obvious while others are not. This series of posts will go over some things you may need to consider if you plan to work for home health. If or when you start working in home health, you will want to update your insurance company about your new job. Your insurance premium will most likely go up because as a home health nurse: you will be driving a lot which means an increase in your annual mileage; since you will be spending a lot of time on the road, it also means an increased risk for car accidents; and being a home health nurse also means that you are now using your car for business use. In my opinion, it is very important that you update your insurance company about this change because if you were to get into a car accident while working for home health, you may be running the risk of your claim getting denied.
